Elon Musk is now offering to pay Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of Meta, $1 billion to rename Facebook, in yet another spectacular attempt to flex their social media muscles.

The billionaire was replying to an article on the parody news website BabylonBee that claimed Musk had offered Mark Zuckerberg $1 billion in exchange for renaming Facebook. It would be a much better name, Musk said, thus confirming the proposition that he would pay to have Zuckerberg change Facebook’s name. Notably, this is not the first time that tensions have erupted between the two digital behemoths; earlier this year, rumours of an upcoming cage match between Zuckerberg and Musk went viral.

Elon Musk has never really refrained from making mocking remarks about his rivals. The owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, recently made fun of Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, for not utilizing Threads, Meta’s text-based social networking tool, more often. Musk concurred that Threads resembles a “ghost town” and said the place is “eerily quiet.”

In addition, the proprietor of X also gave “Zuck” some advice, saying that one needs to use their own product. A fact check revealed that Mark Zuckerberg actually posts on Threads and replies to users on Threads and also posts from time to time.

During a recent call to discuss the company’s earnings, the CEO of Meta stated that Threads has “just under” 100 million active monthly users. He continued by saying that he was happy with how things were going and that they would now concentrate on expanding the community.
