Thousands of Sudanese families seek refuge in Egypt to Flee Fighting

In mid-April, fighting between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has caused thousands of people to flee their homes and cross the northern Arqin border into Egypt.

Families have been sleeping outside in the desert and buses are lining up at the border area, as they wait to be allowed entry into the neighboring country.

The conflict in Sudan has forced many people to leave their homes and seek refuge in Egypt.

The situation has led to a large influx of refugees at the northern Arqin border, where families are enduring difficult conditions while waiting for permission to enter the country.

“I left my home, my place because of the fighting between people of the same country against each other,” said Sudanese citizen Nawal al-Sharif.

The situation has led to a humanitarian crisis, with families enduring difficult conditions as they wait for permission to cross the border.

Many have reported sleeping in makeshift shelters and enduring extreme temperatures and limited access to food and water. Meanwhile, buses have been lining up at the border area, ready to transport refugees to safety in Egypt.
