The Chipukeezy Show Makes a Comeback on KBC

Chipukeezy and Kartello both took to their social media pages to share the news that The Chipukeezy Show was making a comeback after a three-year hiatus. The comical show will be aired on the oldest broadcast channel in Kenya, KBC.

The Chipukeezy Show is set to begin on 11 September, with episodes every Monday from 8.00 pm to 9.00 pm. Prior to the show take a break. It used to initially air on Ebru TV before disagreements with the station’s management led to the abrupt ending of the show.

Chipukeezy shared that the disagreements stemmed from the management wanting him to remove Kartello from the show. Stating that he brought an element of ‘ghetto’ to the show which Chipukeezy disagreed with.

“I received an email from Ebru TV asking me to terminate my agreement and collaboration with Kartello on my show. They say they were a bit concerned that the show had become ghetto because of many youths on the show.”

After their departure from Ebru TV, the show found a new home at TV47 where it continued successfully until it bid their audience farewell in 2020.

Chipukeezy shared his excitement for the show’s revival after three years. He also acknowledged the show’s new home, KBC Chanel 1 for being easily accessible to Kenyans and for viewing. He also expressed his gratitude.

“With a heart full of gratitude, I can hardly believe I am saying this, the Chipukeezy Show is back. After 3 years break, the journey feels even more meaningful, and I can’t thank God enough for his blessings. A special heartfelt accolade to our new home KBC Channel 1, the number one and most senior easy-to-watch station.”

Kartello also expressed his excitement to return to the show. The sheng antics comedian had been off mainstream media since his departure from Milele FM. Kartello rose to fame through the show landing him job opportunities and becoming a public figure in Kenya.
