With a spotlight on empowerment and creativity, the stage is set for an inspiring celebration of youthful joyfulness.

During a forum hosted at the University of Nairobi on Monday, CS Namwamba ignited the excitement for this extraordinary event, which highlights the critical importance of engaging and uplifting the youth demographic. The National Youth Week serves as a platform to amplify the voices of young minds, addressing their concerns, aspirations, and potential contributions to society.

The event will be Themed, “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World,” .The National Youth Week and International Youth Day sums up the vigor, unity, and challenges that define the youth experience.

“This forum exposes the potential of youths as well as their contribution to national development and the realization of their creativity and talent.”

Namwamba highlighted the pivotal role of the Kenya Youth Development Act 2019 in recognizing the unique challenges faced by young individuals. Climate change and drought, in particular, have taken a toll on youth whose livelihoods are intricately tied to agriculture and related activities.

“Kenya has faced many disasters like floods, droughts, and other shortcomings; therefore, this has called upon the youth to participate in activities like the green space.”

He affirmed.

CS Namwamba revealed plans for dynamic exhibitions and an intriguing “hustlers’ bazaar.” This novel initiative is designed to empower the youth, allowing them to exhibit and market their talents. The promise of the Talanta Hela initiative, aimed at nurturing young creativity, was greeted with enthusiasm, as it pledges to facilitate enlightening conversations and expert insights.

As the let’s go green theme takes center stage, Namwamba revealed a vision where youth lead the charge in the green revolution and climate action, serving as driving forces behind youth enterprises, creativity, and talents. With these innovative platforms, Namwamba envisions a future where the youth sector emerges as an unstoppable force, propelling Kenya towards a more sustainable and dynamic world.
