He also talked about solidarity and cooperation saying the pandemic will not be the last global crisis as it still faces climate change, debt risks, slowing economic growth and a widening wealth gap among others.

He further called for unity in solving problems urging the international society to collaborate in sorting out global challenges.

Mr Li also pointed out the need for global cooperation on trade and economic growth saying, ‘’ As you know, some in the West are hyping up the so-called phraseologies of reducing dependencies and de-risking… These two concepts, I would say, are false propositions.’’

‘’As economic globalization has already made the world economy an integral whole where everyone’s interests are closely entwined, countries are interdependent, interconnected with each other, on their economies,’’ he added. ‘’We can enable each other’s success.’’

Additionally, he talked about China’s annual growth target of about five per cent, ‘’From what we see this year, China’s economy shows a clear momentum of rebound and improvement,’’ the Premier said.

This is the first in-person event being held in China after three years due to the COVID pandemic. It is expected to help countries that are present to have a better understanding of the country’s high standards, opening up policies and gaining confidence in long-term investments.
