“The plan for building new roads put forth by Governor Mungáro is practical and will aid in coordinating transportation throughout the county, particularly in the Ganze Constituency where the rainy season makes driving on the roads a hassle,” former Kakuyuni Ward Member of County Assembly, Nickson Muramba said.

In addition, Governor Mungáro implemented a digital tax collection system to eliminate corruption scandals and reduce occurrences of misappropriation of public funds.

“We have faith in the digital tax collection method because it will protect our funds, as opposed to the manual method, which has allowed many tax collectors to escape with Kilifi County resources,” Mungáro stated.

He said that he is planning to deploy many youths to the National Youth Service department for a three-month training in order to fit the County jobs.

“We have already begun a series of conversations with the Kilifi Public Board, and shortly we will send a large number of teenagers to Gilgil to participate in the National Youth Service for three months before returning to the reinforcement team as competent people,” he added.

Prior to the County Parliamentary seatings which officially took place yesterday, Mr. Mungáro announced his County Chiefs list that awaits vetting in the County Assembly.

He appointed Dr. Ruth Dama Masha as the Gender, Social Services, Youth, and sports County Chief officer, Catherine Kenga (Public works, roads, and transport), and Omar Said Omar for water, environment, natural resources, and climate change.

John Raymond Ngala for tourism trade, and Cooperative development, Yaye Ahmed (finance and economic planning),Frankline Dena (Public service, and disaster management), Peter mwarogo(Health a d sanitation).

Others were, Jane Mike Kamto(Lands and physical planning), Clara Ningme Chonga(Education and ICT), Dr. Peterson Chula Mwangoma(Agriculture and Livestock), Joshua Mazera( Economic Adviser)

He appointed Henry Kazungu Luganje as the County Attorney.

According to Mungáro, he anticipates that the parliament will quicken the approval procedure so that business operations can begin.

Meanwhile, Mungáro said that the approved CCs will be working for the next two years before the review of their working performance.

However, staying in office will depend on how hard they deliver to the people of Kilifi.

“The CCS will be working for the next two years and after that, we’ll review their performance and later they’ll be appointed or they’ll be replaced so it depends on how hard they work to deliver for the people of Kilifi,” he noted.
