The Phaneroo Ministries International, a renowned Kampala-based church, is gearing up to make history as they aim to break the Guinness World Record for the longest applause in the “Clap for Jesus Challenge.”

Led by Pastor Grace Lubega, the church members are set to embark on this extraordinary feat on Sunday, July 30, to celebrate their 9th anniversary as a ministry.

At a press conference held Yesterday, Pastor Ronnie Mutebi expressed the church’s excitement and determination to surpass the current record of 2 hours and 5 minutes of applause held by Stevens Clark, UK in July 2019.

The Phaneroo Ministries International intends to clap non-stop for an astonishing 3 hours, a feat that would undoubtedly be as a display of devotion and thanksgiving.

“We shall be celebrating our 9th anniversary in a matter of days, so we felt it prudent to give thanks to God in a special way for the wonderful things He has accomplished in us, through us, and for us in the nine years. This World Record challenge gives us the perfect opportunity to make history for God,” said Pastor Mutebi.

The Guinness World Record attempt will be live-streamed on their YouTube channel and the church’s Manifest TV, allowing people worldwide to witness this extraordinary moment of unity and faith.

To ensure the authenticity of the event, the organization has enlisted professional observers from the Guinness World Record Organization, along with expert timekeepers and cameramen, to document every second of the marathon clapping session.

Speaking to journalists at the head office of Phaneroo Ministries International, Pastor Rohi Bright emphasized that this applause session is not only about breaking records but also a heartfelt expression of gratitude to God for their nine-year milestone as a ministry.

“Apostle Grace Lubega together with his team are set to break the world record of the longest applause that has ever happened in the world, and we are looking forward to breaking that record, but for the Glory of the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” said Pastor Rohi.

If successful, this will mark the second Guinness World Record for Uganda, with the first being the largest-ever chapati rolex, weighing an impressive 205 kilograms, achieved by Emmanuel Onyango and Miriam Watsemba.

The church’s ambitious attempt was inspired by Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, who recently set a world record for the longest cooking marathon.

Her triumph sparked a wave of record-breaking attempts across the globe, including Chef Dammy’s ambitious endeavor to cook for 120 hours.
