Popular musician and self-made billionaire Rihanna has stepped down as the CEO of her lingerie line, Savage X Fenty.
The company announced Rihanna’s resignation from her role as CEO on June 23 saying that the move was meant to aid in the expansion of the company and take the business to the next level.

Rihanna has held the post of CEO of the brand since 2018 when she founded it. The company has named Hillary Super as the incoming CEO to take over Rihanna’s role in the company. Hillary is known as the former CEO of Anthropologie Group where she has been acknowledged for propelling the company to its success. She is expected to begin working as Savage X Fenty’s CEO officially on June 26.
Despite backlash from her fans online who have raised questions regarding the newly appointed CEO’s race, Rihanna has affirmed that she decided to step down as the lingerie brand’s CEO as she feels that the new CEO will make a great contribution to the company. She however remains the executive chair of Savage X Fenty.
Fans have had mixed reactions following the announcement with most of them hoping that the musician took the step to focus on creating more music. The singer has always been pressured by her fan base to release an album. They have lauded her for acknowledging that someone else could add value to the company and attributed her entrepreneurial success to her ability to make such decisions.
