Parliament is hiring and it’s not for debate.
The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) has announced 38 job openings for security wardens, aiming to strengthen protection around Parliament Buildings and its grounds in Nairobi.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, the PSC called on disciplined Kenyans with past experience in uniformed service to apply before the 15th of July.
“These positions are essential in ensuring Parliament remains a secure institution for all stakeholders,” the commission said.
Roles and Requirements
Successful candidates will be responsible for monitoring Parliament’s advanced security systems, including X-ray scanners, CCTV cameras, bomb detectors, and walk-through metal detectors. They will manage access points, screen both vehicles and visitors, and maintain logs to support any future investigations.
Applicants must have:
- A minimum KCSE grade of D+
- At least three years of experience in a uniformed force
- Parliamentary training (for those being appointed directly)
The PSC explained that wardens will help uphold both safety and order in a high-stakes environment that sees daily visits from lawmakers, staff, and the public.
“These officers will play a critical role in securing the integrity of Parliament,” the commission added.

- Copies of academic certificates and relevant testimonials
