Diana Marua Faces Backlash After Interviewing Son on Lenana School Unrest in Viral Vlog

Diana Marua faces criticism after posting a vlog featuring her son discussing the Lenana School unrest.

Diana Marua Bahati has come under intense criticism from a section of social media users after publishing a vlog featuring her son, Morgan, discussing the recent unrest at Lenana School that led to the institution’s indefinite closure.

The controversy erupted after Morgan returned home following the sudden student demonstrations at the school.

In the vlog, Diana questioned him about the events surrounding the unrest, prompting him to narrate what had transpired and share details about the incident.

The video quickly sparked debate online, with many netizens arguing that the content crossed ethical boundaries by exposing a student to public scrutiny during an ongoing and sensitive matter.

Critics contended that discussing the unrest publicly before authorities conclude investigations could potentially place the student at risk, particularly if fellow students perceive his remarks as revealing information about the incident.

Many social media users questioned whether the desire to create content had overshadowed considerations about privacy, safety, and parental responsibility.

Netizens Accuse Diana Marua of Turning a Sensitive Matter Into Content

One of the most widely shared reactions came from X user Mary Njoroge, who criticized the influencer’s decision to publicly interview her son shortly after his return home.

“Parents please, you need to approach this demos issue with caution. Diana Marua has a son who schools in Lenana. When he landed home Diana put all cameras for content asking the boy what happened and who started the strike. The boy narrated everything publicly. Now Diana what was that? Putting your son in danger, those boys can do something dangerous to him considering him as a snitch. Not everything is content walai aki some parents shuwali…”

The comment resonated with many users who echoed concerns that students involved in school unrest should be shielded from public exposure.

The unrest at Lenana School has attracted significant public interest, with parents, education stakeholders, and government officials closely monitoring developments especially with the recent wave of unrest in learning institutions like the Utumishi Girls incident that saw a dormitory fire claim the lives of 16 students and left scores injured.

The indefinite closure of Lenana followed student demonstrations whose cause remains the subject of ongoing inquiries.
