The Athletics Integrity Unit has revealed provisional suspensions for nine athletes, with four of are from Kenya.
Purity Komen, the reigning champion of the Istanbul Half Marathon, is facing scrutiny due to the detection of a prohibited substance (Norandrosterone) and allegations of evading Sample Collection.
A notice of allegation has been issued to the 25-year-old athlete.

The 2018 Bali Marathon champion Rebecca Korir has also been suspended due to the presence of a prohibited substance (Methylprednisolone). and a formal charge has been filed against her.
Another Kenyan athlete on the list of suspensions is James Karanja, who has been banned for the use of a prohibited substance(Norandrosterone).
Additionally, 23-year-old Esther Borura has been provisionally suspended for using a Norandrosterone as well, and a notice of allegation has also been served to her.

As per the AIU, a Provisional Suspension refers to the temporary suspension of an Athlete or any other individual from engaging in any Athletics-related competition or activity.
