Raila Slams Gachagua, “He Is An Embarrassment To The Presidency!”

In a heated address on Wednesday night, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party leader Raila Odinga launched a scathing attack on Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, condemning his often controversial public statements.

Odinga’s criticism comes in response to Gachagua’s recent comments regarding bipartisan talks and his divisive remarks about the government.

Addressing the nation, Odinga began by referencing Gachagua’s August remarks, where the Deputy President labeled the ongoing bipartisan discussions between leaders from the opposition Azimio and the ruling Kenya Kwanza political factions as a “waste of time.”

Odinga did not hold back in his response, saying, “Such remarks are not presidential, especially coming from a political leader of the stature of a deputy president.”

Odinga also took issue with Gachagua’s comments from February, in which the Deputy President likened the government to a company with shareholders, suggesting that the administration would prioritize those who voted for it while neglecting opposition supporters.

He went on to label Gachagua as “an embarrassment” to the nation due to the high office he holds, and questioned his moral standing to serve as the Deputy President of Kenya.

Odinga also accused Gachagua of regional bias, claiming that he only works for his own region to the detriment of other parts of the country.

Odinga emphasized the importance of the government providing services to all citizens equally, regardless of their political affiliation.
