According to experts, bed rotting may allow you to recharge but too much in bed can disrupt your mood and increase stress. Unlike having a lazy day where you still get to do only fun activities that you like, bed rotting involves being ticked under several blankets with a snack or mobile and being in that position for most of your day.
According to psychologists, someone who lays in bed for more than a day or two indicates they could be having depression, anxiety or other mental health issues, psychologists associate this with avoiding pain, stress or feelings of being awake.
Bed rotting also has negative effects on your sleep. Psychologists recommend that the bed be used only for sleep and intimacy and that people should not work, use the phone or watch TV in bed.
Professionals suggest if you do not sleep within the first thirty minutes of entering bed or are awake for more than twenty minutes in the middle of the night, you need to spend more time out of your bed.
