Recently, Harvard business school introduced Kim Kardashian and her 3.2 billion Skims brand as a subject in their curriculum.

Reality show.

They started in 2007 and have increased in relevance ever since moving from E, where they did twenty episodes to Hulu where currently have a contract for four seasons with each Kardashian/Jenner receiving approximately 1.6 million dollars per episode. Season three just premiered their first episode and is off to a good start with Beyoncé’s song opening the episode and Scott Disick making a feature.

Fashion.

Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner have been recognized for their unique and individual fashion sense with both being trendsetters. Knowingly or unknowingly, you have a piece inspired by them. They have a new money aesthetic which resonates with most Gen Z.

Body image.

Before Kim Kardashian made having an hour glass, thick slim figure as a beauty standard, Paris Hilton held the torch of size zero being the beauty standard. Women worldwide embraced plastic surgery with them doing BBL and liposuctions and fillers on their lips. In 2022, Kim and Khloe had their butt implants reduced and then came the new trend of BBL being last season.

Women have also embraced more nude photos with Kim Kardashian constantly posting barely covered images leaving little to the imagination.

Entrepreneurship.

The family boasts of having two billionaires and four millionaires with each having their own franchise outside their reality show. Kim Kardashian with Skims, Kylie Jenner with Kylie cosmetics, Khloe with Good American, Kendall with 818 Tequila, Kourtney with Poosh and Kris Jenner with Safely as their main brands but also many other separate brands that bring in millions for them individually.

They have managed to leverage their body, insecurity and publicity to bring in money. Always trying something new.

This family has advocated for gun violence, toxic mining that causes cancer, Armenia genocide and of course Kim Kardashian’s justice reform to mention but a few.
