The stellar performance by Mikel Arteta’s men shows how they are glued together as a squad and ready for the job ahead of them as they are now five points clear with 13 games remaining, the same as second-placed Manchester City.

The north London club has shown fortitude to bounce back after the loss on 15th February with three back to back wins — they have embraced the pressure that comes with territory of being league leaders. The answers have been provided emphatically after three potentially tough tests away to Aston Villa, Leicester City and Everton.

In the Villa game Arsenal showed how determined they were to not drop any points stealing the game with two goals in added time for a 4-2 win. The Foxes were overcome with the efficiency of Arsenal he dispatched them with a 1-0 victory. Everton were dismantled 4-0 with the fluency that has marked out their splendid season.

Arsenal are heading in one direction under Arteta and every game from now will be a must win result for them to lift the title at the end of the campaign. The Gunners mentality and ability to take blows and move forward is a real state of mind and shows how focused they are with on form winger Saka leading from the front.

Last night Oleksandr Zinchenko and Bukayo Saka unlocked the door shortly before half-time with a thunderous strike before catching Idrissa Gueye unaware to assist Gabriel Martinelli for the second after beating the offside trap. Everton have not scored more than one goal in 15 games, and we have to look back to the 3-0 win against Crystal Palace on 22 October.

Martin Odegaard and Martinelli added their name on the score line in the second half, while Arsenal wasted other opportunities to make this a thoroughly bad night for Everton, who could have lost by even more.
Substitutes Kieran Tierney, Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah and Fabio Vieira showed real strength and Thomas Partey came on for the second half to showcase his influence in midfield.

Former Man City forward Gabriel Jesus is also back in training this week after knee surgery, increasing the morale around the club.

The Gunners could have felt sorry for themselves after the loss to Manchester City but truth be told they have reacted in the manner that strongly suggests they are most likely to lift the 2022/2023 EPL Cup.
