Chris Evans, US actor best known for his role as superhero Captain America in numerous Marvel films, has been named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.
“My mom will be so happy,” he told the magazine for its cover story, which hits newsstands on Friday. “She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.”
He is also aware that he will most likely be teased by close friends.“Really this will just be a point of bullying,” he joked in an interview. “It’s ripe for harassment.”
Co-stars and previous Sexiest Man Alive winners like Rudd, Ryan Reynolds, and Chris Hemsworth are likely to heckle him. (Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel movies, was the first Avenger to receive the People’s Choice Award, which was first given to Mel Gibson in 1985.)

Others who have received the award in the past include John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Adam Levine, Richard Gere, Channing Tatum, and David Beckham.
People Magazine interviewed Chris Evans, 41, at a Georgia farmhouse about finding a better work-life balance. “The most enjoyable aspect of my career right now is feeling secure enough to take my foot off the gas,” he said.

Chris Evans’ first film role was in “The Newcomers” in 2000, and he played the superhero Johnny Storm in two “Fantastic Four” films released in 2005 and 2007. However, he rose to prominence in 2011 with the release of “Captain America: The First Avenger.”
He’s played the wholesome superhero in ten Marvel films since then, finally laying down his shield after saving the universe in “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019.
Evans has become a bankable star after voicing Buzz Lightyear in Pixar’s “Lightyear” film and playing a sadistic assassin attempting to kill Reynolds in Nextflix’s “The Gray Man,” both of which were released this year.
