Njerae is setting the mood for Valentine’s season with Four Letter Word, her much-anticipated new project dropping on February 14. Known for her smooth Afro-Indie and soul sound, she describes this release as a deep dive into the many shades of love—beyond just romance.
The EP follows a major career milestone for Njerae, who was recently named to Apple Music’s Africa Rising Stars Class of 2025, representing Kenya and East Africa. With Four Letter Word, she gives fans a thoughtfully curated soundtrack for love in all its forms.
The four-track project includes “Fight for You” (produced by Wondamagik), “Beg for It” (produced by Kobby Worldwide), “Decide” (produced by Vic West), and “Hypnotize” (produced by Kobby Worldwide).
Njerae offered a glimpse of what’s to come with the release of “Beg for It” on January 17, a track that quickly gained traction, peaking at #36 on Apple Music Top 100 Kenya and becoming a crowd favorite at her live shows.
Four Letter Word goes beyond the usual love songs—Njerae explores themes of desire, longing, and human connection in a way that feels both personal and universal.
“I wanted to create a body of work that doesn’t just talk about love, but also the emotions that come with it—lust, obsession, and the social dynamics that shape our relationships,” she shares.
Sonically, Njerae sees this EP as a return to her roots. “I experimented a lot with my previous projects, but with this one, I’m blending everything I’ve learned with my original style. It’s the most authentic version of me yet.”
The “Aki Sioni” hitmaker has also teased the music video for “Beg for It”, set to drop on Valentine’s Day, with more projects and live performances lined up for the year.
