Producers have long had numerous reasons to film in Kenya because of its rich history, unique culture, and stunning natural surroundings. Here are some well-known movies that were filmed in Kenya;

Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life
Just two hours outside the city, in Kenya’s breathtaking Hell’s Gate National Park, Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life was filmed on location.

Many shots, especially the main ones in the “tomb,” are perfectly framed by the stunning gorges, cliffs, and rocks. Pokot tribe members from Kenya appeared in the film as the strange tribe that tomb raider Lara Croft discovered in Africa.

The First Grader
One of a kind and motivating, this film is. It is a biographical film about Tony Njoroge, a Mau Mau (freedom fighter) who is the oldest pupil to ever enroll in an elementary class at the age of 84.

He starts a learning adventure without any qualms after finding that primary school is now free for primary children, a chance he had never had before and couldn’t afford. He is in a class with six-year-olds. It is a tale about maintaining focus and seizing opportunities at any age. The Great Rift Valley of Kenya is where the movie was filmed.

Born to be Wild
This documentary was filmed in Borneo’s jungles and in Kenya. It provides light on the attempts to save wild species, particularly elephants, who are extensively featured in the 40-minute documentary film, and is narrated by the instantly recognizable voice of Morgan Freeman. The conservation efforts are led by Birute Galdikas and Daphne Sheldrick.

The Rise and Fall of Idi Amin

Idi Amin, the president of the Republic of Uganda during his rule in the 1970s, is the subject of this biographical film.

The plot centers on a group of young people from many countries who are perplexed by how they can use each other’s abilities and converse telepathically while being connected psychologically. They struggle to unite in order to combat their shared foe in order to survive and protect the status quo of the world order since they are being sought after.

Cry Freedom, a potent South African drama starring Denzel Washington, helps expose the genuine tragedy of the country’s apartheid administration at the time.

The main focus of the film is an odd friendship between Steve Biko, a black activist, and Donald Woods, a white top editor of a liberal newspaper. Donald initially opposed Biko, but after meeting him, he changed his mind. The majority of the film was filmed in Zimbabwe, however, Mombasa, a port city and seaside town in Kenya, served as the location for the beach sequences.

Gun Runners
Semi-arid, inter-community cattle rustling feuds have long caused instability and disturbed the calm in these villages in the northern region of Kenya. This setting serves as the backdrop for the film Gun Runners. Due to the fact that Julius and Robert, two young guys, have spent the majority of their life fighting and stealing livestock, they have become accustomed to the occupational hazard of running skirmishes with the police. They decide to sell their weapons for a pair of running shoes and the potential to succeed in the marathon running world in order to build a better future for themselves.
