Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa has today turned wildly after Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi showed interest in getting an equal stake to the UDA government in Kilifi County.

Kingi who ditched the Azimio-Oka team to the Kenya Kwanza coalition exhibited hopes of selling his Pamoja African Alliance Party (PAA) to eternity.

Him joining PAA, designate how Kingi was eagerly looking for a good marketing zone to brand his newest party.

The deputy president William Ruto appointed Kingi to be one of the Kenya Kwanza coastal region coordinators assisting him to bag enough votes in fulfilling his 2022 political ambitions.

The coastal leaders appointed earlier this month were Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi and Taita-Taveta women representative Lydia Haika.

However, Kilifi County UDA claimed to have been loyal to the party and thus wants Ruto to allow UDA offices in each county to coordinate their campaigns instead of having a larger team that will not deliberate equivalent commitment towards the election.

Speaking yestersday  in Malindi UDA offices, Jumwa has rebuked Kingi for his hidden agendas before the elections. She has further stated that Coast isn’t a PAA zone despite Kingi being appointed as regional coordinator.

“Kenya Kwanza coalition and UDA has been and will continue to support actively and promotes all its candidates vying for various positions in Kilifi County. There will be no zoning in Kilifi County.”

Kingi the outgoing Governor has been domiciled and allegedly involved with corruption cases of looting public funds and properties. A case that made him appear before the EACC centre on 29 November 2016.

Aisha, however, calls for Kingi to decontaminate himself before the Kilifi residents who claim that Kingi brought zero developments to the table.

“We appreciate his excellency the outgoing Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi. We note with great concern that his bad track record as county chief, may affect UDA and Kenya Kwanza popularity in Kilifi County. Unless he starts sanitizing himself.”

Aisha Jumwa and Kilifi North Mp Owen Baya, are known to be the UDA frontiers in Kilifi County, hence believing in winning regardless of the stiff competition from their Azimio opponents.

Kingi’s political journey

Amason Kingi who clinched the Magarini Constituency seat in 2008 through the ODM ticket, became Raila’s die-hard supporter and the most loved politician in Kilifi following the tendency of his firm extremism. The same year, he was nominated as Minister for East Africa Community for 2 years.

In 2010, Kingi was treasured with the Fisheries ministry until March 4 2013 when he resigned and contested for Kilifi gubernatorial seat.

He managed to become the first Governor in the newly devolved government after defeating his close opponents, Lonne Mbaga, Francis Baya and Prof. Katana.

In 2017, Kingi defeated Gideon Mungáro and emerged as the winner.

Kingi’s promises

ODM party has been the Kingi’s back born until he decided to come up with his PAA party whose agenda is to unite Kilifi and fight against land injustices, create more jobs for Kilifi youths, and improve health sectors, education as well as empower farmers to stabilize food security.

Ruto’s enticement plans to Kingi

His political journey is stated to come to an abrupt end because he annoyed his long last boss (Raila). Defecting from Azimio to Kenya Kwanza is considered to be political suicide to Governor Kingi.

Despite being promised to be the speaker of the house of the senate and also possess a big stake in Mombasa port, Kingi will have to gather 50% per cent of Kilifi votes to the deputy president William Ruto, something that Azimio consider impossible.
