A three-day political tour of Western Kenya has been launched by a coalition of opposition leaders as efforts are intensified to strengthen grassroots support and broaden political networks.
The outreach programme is being led by Eugene Wamalwa and brings together several prominent opposition figures from across the country.
Public rallies, community meetings and informal engagements are expected to be held throughout the region.
Key Leaders United

A united front is being presented by some of Kenya’s most recognisable opposition leaders.
Among those expected to participate are Rigathi Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Fred Matiang’i, George Natembeya and Cleophas Malala.
Several Members of Parliament, including Eseli Simiyu, Wafula Wamunyinyi, Caleb Amisi and Peter Salasya, are also expected to join the tour.
The joint appearances are being viewed as a show of growing cooperation among opposition figures ahead of future political contests.
Tour Starts in Vihiga
The first day of the tour is being held in parts of Vihiga County.
Stops have been scheduled in Luanda, Khwirumbi, Khayega, Malava, Mayuge and Shikomari.
Residents are expected to be addressed on a range of political and economic issues affecting the region and the country.
Rallies Planned Across Counties
On Saturday, a media briefing is expected to be held before the delegation proceeds to several towns in Busia County.
Public meetings have been planned in Shianda, Bumala, Nambale, Harambee Market and Ekitale.
The final leg of the tour will be conducted on Sunday.
Visits have been scheduled in Kibabii, Chewele, Misikhu, Naitiri and Kiminini before the programme concludes in Kitale town.
Focus on Grassroots Support

The tour is being presented as an opportunity for direct engagement with local communities.
Political support is expected to be mobilised through public forums and town-hall-style meetings.
At the same time, the coalition’s ability to maintain unity is likely to be closely watched by supporters and rivals alike.
As the leaders travel across Western Kenya, attention will be focused on the messages delivered and the alliances being strengthened ahead of the country’s next political chapter.
