Guinness Book of World Records documents and celebrates superlative achievements that are the best in the world. Record breaking is a serious business, which means there are strict policies governing what constitutes a Guinness World Records title.
Many people have broken the Guinness Book of World Records, and this list of exceptional individuals so happens to include some Presidents.
Some of these distinguished presidents holding Guinness World Records include:
Barrack Obama
Barack Hussein Obama II was inaugurated as the 44th president of the USA on 20th January 2009, following a record-breaking campaign.
Over 136 million voters turned out on election day – the most since 1960 – and more than 2 million descended on the Capitol in Washington, DC for his inauguration.
Obama holds the title for the First African-American president of the USA, in Guinness World Records.
Joaquin Balaguer
Joaquin Balaguer was the president of the Dominican Republic from 1960 to 1996. He ultimately left the office at the age of 89, having held the presidency for over 23 years in total.
Joaquin holds the Guinness World Record for the oldest president to leave office.
John F. Kennedy
John F. Kennedy holds the Guinness World Record for the youngest man ever to win the American presidency, at the age of 43 years and 236 days old.
Kennedy is also the youngest to die in office after he was assassinated in 1963.
However, he was not the youngest president ever, because Theodore Roosevelt was only 42 when he was sworn in after the assassination of William McKinley.

But Kennedy maintains the Guinness World of Records because Roosevelt was not elected when he became president for the first time. He was elected after he took over in September 1901 after McKinley was assassinated in Buffalo, New York.
However, in 1904, 46-year-old Roosevelt was elected in his own right, after he defeated Democratic nominee Alton B. Parker.
Pedro Lascuráin
Pedro Lascuráin has the Guinness World Record for the shortest-serving president. Pedro governed Mexico on 19 February 1913, for less than one hour.
Lascuráin was the legal successor to President Francisco Ignacio Maderno, who was deposed along with his vice president, Jose Maria Pino Suarez both of whom were later assassinated on 22 February 1913).
This forced Lascuráin, who had been Minister of Foreign Affairs, to become the president. His only act as president of Mexico was to appoint the mastermind of the coup, General Victoriano Huerta, as Minister of Foreign Affairs so that when he resigned he would be replaced by Huerta as president.
John Tyler
Democrat John Tyler was the 10th president of the USA, from 1841 to 1845. He was married twice and fathered 15 children. Tyler remains the only US president with the most children.
