A section of the China-Russia East-Route Natural Gas Pipeline was launched on December 7 for the gas flow from Siberia to Eastern Economic zone of Shanghai.
The 750-Kilometers long, which links Tai’an City in Shandong and Taixing City in Jiangsu, was completed in 6 months’ time ahead of the new schedule.
The China-Russia East-Route Natural Gas Pipeline also known Power of Siberia Pipeline as is part of the 5,111-KM-long which starts in the North-Eastern of Heihe China’s City and Terminates in Shanghai.
According to a Statement by the Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange-SPNGE, the section will help in ensuring energy supply in the economic zones.
Also, the statement added that Gas Transportation can flow to Shanghai through the North-Eastern Provinces of China, and Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei respectively.

The Power of Siberia Pipeline (China-Russia East-Route Natural Gas Pipeline) started Supplying Gas in 2019 and is expected to deliver its full Capacity of 38 Billion Cubic Meters a year in 2027, two years later than planned.
On the other hand, the Pipeline has so far Transmitted over 28 Billion Cubic Meters of Natural Gas.
The Transmitting Capacity of the Pipeline will further increase when other sections are completed and put into operation.
