Ruto my mission to fix Kenya is well underway

NAIROBI — President William Ruto has made it clear he sees his leadership as more than just politics. Speaking at a church service in Nairobi, he described his role as a “God-given assignment” and pledged to see it through, no matter the obstacles.

“Mungu ndiye amenipa nafasi ya kuongoza Kenya, na amenipatia assignment ya ku-transform this nation. Hiyo assignment, I will see it through,” Ruto said in a mix of Kiswahili and English, stressing his deep personal conviction.

The president pointed to long-stalled national projects like the Affordable Housing Programme and Universal Health Coverage, which have lingered for decades without real progress. He said it’s time for action.

“Tumengojea kwa miaka mingi, story imekuwa nyingi. Hii mradi wa Affordable Housing na Universal Health Coverage imekuwepo for 30 years na haijafanyika. This is the time to do it and I am the person to do it, singojei mwingine,” he declared.

Despite ongoing political attacks, name-calling, and attempts to intimidate him, Ruto remained undeterred.

“I am committed, determined, and focused on transforming Kenya. No amount of intimidation or name-calling is going to change my course,” he said, conveying a steady confidence.

Ruto acknowledged the noise around him but insisted time is on his side to bring meaningful change.

“I have an assignment to transform Kenya na niko na muda ya kutosha ya kunyorosha hii maneno. I have enough time, mpaka ikae mzuri. Watu wananipigia makelele lakini mimi sijali. Mimi I am focused,” he said.

Analysts note that Ruto’s tenure has faced its share of political turbulence, yet his determination to push forward major development goals remains a defining feature of his presidency. Whether these ambitions will translate into tangible results remains to be seen, but the president’s resolve is unmistakable.
