The increasing number of people seeking weight loss has led to the development of various procedures by different brands. These procedures make it easy and fast for individuals to lose weight without needing to go to the gym.

Gastric Sleeve bypass is a surgery performed for weight loss. The surgery is done to make physical changes to the stomach by making it smaller this decreases the amount of food a person can consume leading to a drop in their weight.

This procedure is known to be pricey with the likes of Risper Faith a Kenyan influencer, stating her surgery cost around Ksh 1 million. The gastric bypass is known to work for over twenty years with a decrease of 50% in one’s original weight.

Side effects can come after the surgery such as deficiency in vitamins, and ulcers which could lead to bleeding and pain. A need for long-term follow-up is recommended.

A more cost-efficient way of losing weight is intermittent fasting. With intermittent fasting, you only eat small portions of food once a day. The decreased consumption of food will lead to the body consuming the stored fat for energy which later induces weight loss.

As cost-effective as this method can be it could lead to malnutrition and a need to have a balanced diet during the process is needed.

Gastric balloon is another method that can be used for weight loss. This is a silicon balloon filled with saline, it is placed in the stomach to create the feeling of fullness hence less food consumption.

The gastric balloon is inserted into the stomach and remains there for six months before being removed. While effective for weight loss during this period, efforts are required to maintain the weight after its removal. However, it’s important to note that the gastric balloon may cause side effects such as stomach cramps and nausea.

Many of us dislike going to the gym because we see it as a boring and tiring way to lose weight. However, whether we’ve had surgery or not, staying at a healthy weight requires exercise. That’s why it’s important to develop a disciplined exercise routine to achieve and sustain our ideal bodies.
