According to authorities, a third person has been detained in relation to the fatal fentanyl overdose event at a daycare center in the Bronx that resulted in the death of a 1-year-old boy.
The third arrest this month as a result of Nicholas Dominici’s passing is Renny Antonio Parra Paredes, 38. In relation to the fentanyl poisoning of four children at the Divino Nio daycare on Morris Avenue on September 15, he is accused of conspiring to distribute drugs that resulted in death, according to the US Attorney’s Office.

Paredes is charged with conspiring to distribute drugs with Grei Mendez, the 36-year-old proprietor of the daycare center, and Carlisto Acevedo Brito, the 41-year-old cousin of Mendez’s husband. According to the officials, the narcotics operation at the daycare ran from July to September.
At the daycare, investigators discovered substantial quantities of suspected narcotics concealed in trap door compartments in the floor of the area where the kids played and slept, as well as a kilogram of fentanyl placed on top of kids’ playmats.
On September 15, four children who were enrolled in the daycare experienced fentanyl poisoning, according to the authorities. Although Nicholas Feliz-Dominici, a 1-year-old, was rushed to the hospital, he died of the effects of fentanyl in his system.

Paredes could get a mandatory minimum term of 20 years in jail or a life sentence.
