Since time immemorial, there has always been a new generation cropping up, especially in the music industry set to replace the older existing artists.
Some of the artists who have been replaced include; T Pain, Lil’ Kim and Katy Perry. These three were replaced by Future, Nicki Minaj and Dua Lipa.

However, with these replacements there has been a lot of expectations for Cardi B to replace Nicki Minaj. This is so, as Cardi B does the same rap genre as Nicki Minaj. Nicki is very versatile when it comes to her rapping skills through inserting different flows and rhythms in her rap.
Meanwhile, her counterpart Cardi B has not been able to do this successfully.
In the past, new artists who have replaced the older artists have been seen to be better, through using different styles in their songs and also using unique auto tunes and flavour.
In addition, Nicki has also been able to do different kinds of genres like Pop, Drill and RnB. While Cardi B has only been able to do one RnB song dubbed Be Careful With Me.
Also, famous American rapper Lil Wayne, said during an interview that it is impossible to replace Nicki Minaj. The interview included Sovereign Brands CEO Brett Berish, who asked Wayne if he looks forward to finding other artists to replace Drake and Nicki.
“There’s no such thing, I hate when people ask me that. There’s no such thing as the next Drake or Nicki… I guess back then when I did discover Drake and Nicki, the game was different. Music was different. What I mean by that is they came in right before the whole social media popped off, they came when music had everybody’s attention. Meaning it had everybody looking to say, ‘What is next? Who is next?’ You had a choice to say, ‘This is what’s next.’ That’s not what it is these days.”
