Man Arrested for Abducting and Attacking Son in Migori

A man has been arrested for abducting and viciously attacking his own three-year-old son. The incident occured in God Kweru village, Suna West sub-county, Migori county.

The suspect, identified as Clinton Ouko in his 30s. He was apprehended by the provincial administration in cooperation with the police. The authorities received information that the man had taken his son hostage, pushing for urgent response to the distressing situation.

Area Assistant Chief, Mr. Samwel Oketch, along with some police officers, rushed to the scene upon receiving the report. They found the young boy already injured, with blood oozing from his head. The suspect, still holding a dangerous panga (machete), appeared intent on inflicting more harm on his defenseless son.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had gone to his ex-wife’s residence. She had been staying in Muhurubay, Nyatike Sub County, after their separation. He forcibly kidnapped the innocent child and relocated him to God Kweru in Suna West Sub County. This is where he subjected the child to cruel torture.

The child was immediately rushed to God Kweru Health Center for urgent medical attention. Despite the severity of the attack, medical personnel reported that the child’s condition is currently stable. However, further assessments, including scanning and additional medical tests, are pending to ensure his full recovery.

The community and authorities are in a state of shock and condemnation over this shocking act of violence. The suspect is now in custody and legal process will ensue to ensure justice is served for the innocent child.
