In a stirring speech, President William Ruto expressed Kenya’s support for President Asali Osman’s chairmanship of the African Union (AU), emphasizing the country’s commitment to collaborate to enhance trade and free movement.
Ruto congratulated President Osman on assuming the role and hailed the historic achievement of the Republic of the Camaros as the first island state to lead the continental governing body.
Additionally, President Ruto emphasized the significance of people-to-people exchanges, investment promotion, and the sharing of experiences in sustainable tourism practices. He commended President Osman’s acceptance of the immense responsibility and momentous mandate that comes with leading the AU in 2023.

Furthermore, President Ruto extended his congratulations to President Asalia Money for successfully hosting the International Conference on the Blue Economy
Expressing his confidence in President Osman’s ability to drive Africa Union reforms forward, President Ruto believed that the AU would effectively implement Agenda 2063 and establish African solutions to African problems.
