Bahati: I Regret Not Being There for My Brother

Bahati Mtoto wa Mama has finally disclosed that his brother’s death has affected him and he regrets not being a supportive brother.

Bahati shared his story about his brother on Diana Marua’s YouTube Channel saying he regrets not being a good brother to the late Charles. He disclosed that his brother became an alcoholic after their mother died.

The brother started hustling at a young age and as soon as they lost their mother, Charles took over the role of taking care of his three siblings.

The family was forced to move from Mathare to Nairobi and it became more of a challenge to him. Charles found it difficult to provide for his family and immersed himself in alcoholism which later led to him being diagnosed with Diabetes.

The musician said that his brother died at the age of 22 years, very young and full of a bright future. Bahati admits that they were never on good terms as he was always drunk and he hates drunkards.

I have never been a friend of alcohol. I hate people that drink excessively, “Bahati firmly declared.

The two mostly fought because the brother kept drinking even after being diagnosed with Diabetes. Bahati says that he gave up on his brother because he felt that he was not living the life he wanted.

My brother and I would fight a lot as he would still drink even after being diagnosed with Diabetes,” said Bahati.

However, the Artist regrets not showing love to his brother at that time. He says he regrets not being a supportive brother and not showing him love and care as he was supposed to.

“I regret not loving him enough to date. I would argue with my late brother over silly things,” he painfully narrated.
