Mason Greenwood included in Man United’s retain list

Mason Greenwood has been included in the club’s official list of retained players for the 2023/24 season. Greenwood who was suspended due to an ongoing investigation has not played for Manchester United since his arrest in January 2022.

The striker was accused of attempted rape, assault and coercive behavior but the charges were dropped earlier in February. However, the club is yet to conclude internal investigations into the matter.

Greenwood’s contract ends in 2025 but it is not yet clear of he will continue at Old Trafford or if the club will cut ties with him.

According to reports, Erik Ten Hag and most of United squad is willing to welcome Greenwood back.

Despite his teammate’s having his back, Mason’s return will only be approved if the women’s team and key stakeholders agree.

There has been reports that Greenwood does not expect to play for the club again.It is believed that he’s on the radar for clubs in Italy,Spain and Turkey.

A total of seven players have been released by the club, including Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe.

United also included an update on goalkeeper David De Gea, who does not feature on the retained list.There are open talks with the golden glove winner on contract renewal.
