During his morning show on ClassicFM, Maina said that a man without money only deserves love from his mother. This remark was brought about in the morning conversation that came from a man who left his wife a cryptic message before he collapsed and died. In the message he said things like, he saw his wife kissing another man and that even though he was broke and unemployed he deserved respect and he was not stupid. He also mentioned that he got so much mistreatment from people and could not bear it anymore and asked his wife to take care of herself and their kids.
Maina said that men should know women do not eat love and for a relationship to work money is a key element. Women are not meant to be the providers he added, saying that it would breed resentment especially if the man is not actively looking for ways to get back on his feet. He told the men listening that women will only persevere for a year, top, as they wait for the man to get another means of employment and that their perseverance should not be mistaken for respect.
