Bernice Kariuki: Celebrated Kenyan Chef Quits Arsenal Job

Bernice Kariuki has resigned from her position at Arsenal as a private chef. She was the head chef at Arsenal and prepared meals for first-team players, the technical bench as well as management.

On Sunday, Kariuki announced her exit on social media. She expressed her gratitude for her employment at the English Premier League team.

” A final day flourish. Finished the season with a bang! with the best season ever, I hang my gloves as a very proud chef. it has been an honour working with the best club in the world,” she wrote. She also thanked Kenyans for their continuous support. ”Asanteni sana, especially my country.”

Kariuki joined Arsenal in mid-2021 after Mikel Arteta’s appointment as Arsenal’s manager. Born and raised in Jericho Estate Nairobi, her resume is well decorated. She is an alumnus of Westminster Kingsway College in London, where she studied culinary arts. The Lanes Borough, Dorchester and Waldorf Hilton are some of the hotels she has worked for in the United Kingdom.

She attributed her success in landing the lucrative job to a chance when she met former Arsenal captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang. Aubameyang was attending a Christmas party where he was impressed with the pilau dish and linked her to Arsenal.
