In accordance with the latest records from the Immigration Department, 63,265 passports applications are pending issuance, the majority being the popular 34-page A-series.

Accumulation of unprocessed passports has occurred due to delays in the supply of booklets and an increase in the demand for passports. The majority of Kenyans are looking for jobs outside the country and students are also enrolling in foreign institutions.
