The new driver selfie check feature in Bolt will be used to improve customers’ safety, and discourage malicious acts like impersonation and account sharing.
The new feature will prompt a driver to take a selfie for verification of their identity. If the selfie fails to match their previously shared details, the driver will be restrained from offering their services.
Verified drivers will be the only people able to access bolt services. “Our mission revolves around offering affordable, quality and safe services and through this new driver selfie check feature, we aim to offer a safe rider mobility experience to all users on our platform,” Bolt Country Manager Linda Ndungu said.
“The new feature will discourage driver impersonation and continue to strengthen our mobility service by enhancing the safety of riders,” She added.
