Bolt Food has Introduced Food Delivery Services in Mombasa

Bolt Food Kenya has introduced its food delivery and takeaway services in Mombasa. It will allow locals to conveniently order meals from different restaurants.

The online food delivery platform is currently providing the services to citizens based at Ziwani, Tudor, Makupa, Tononoka, Kibokoni, and Ganjoni, among others. Then later on in upcoming weeks, it will expand its services to nearby areas.

The expansion in Bolt food services came along once the Estonian-based company freshly announced investment and expansion plans in the country.

Bolt Food Country Manager Edgar Kitur said, “We are delighted to launch our services in Mombasa City as part of our nationwide expansion plan,”

“Mombasa remains an integral market for us, and we look forward to offering our clients affordable, convenient, and quality services. We are also happy to economically empower the youth in Mombasa by offering employment opportunities to them through the gig economy,” He added.

Following the Bolt services that were launched in Nairobi in 2021, Mombasa becomes the second city for Bolt food to be introduced.

Mombasa is known to have a wide variety of Swahili delicacies, African cuisine, fast food delicacies, continental dishes and seafood meals.

Well-known restaurants in Coast include: KFC, Chicken Inn, Galito’s, Java House, Adams Barbeque, Crave Mombasa, Snack Attack Restaurant, Milia Gardens, and Damascus Shawarma.

“Currently, we have onboarded over 300 couriers in Mombasa on our platform, thus helping them make a decent living,” Kitur said.

“We shall continue to work with other couriers and restaurants to create job opportunities for the coastal region.” He added

In accordance with Statista firm, the expected number of users in Africa is expected to reach 79.51 million by the year 2027. This data will show an increased growth in the online food delivery services.

At the moment, Bolt Food has over 1500 restaurants on its platform and provides job opportunities to over 4000 couriers in Nairobi and its metropolis.
