Student beats teacher unconscious over video game

A 17-year-old male student at Matanzas High School in US has been arrested for attacking a teacher in blind rage and beating her unconscious because the teacher allegedly took his Nintendo Switch game during class.

The victim is a Teacher’s aide in the high school, she suffered back and neck injuries from the perpetrator, she was taken to hospital and fortunately recovered from the injuries and is currently discharged from the hospital.

The student has been arrested and his charges and is likely to be tried as an adult. According to court records he has been charged with aggravated battery on a school board employee, a first-degree felony that is punishable by up to 30 years in Prison.

He is being held on bail for one million dollars. The incident occurred on February 27th on the school grounds the student said that he was angry at the teacher because she had taken his Nintendo Switch away from him in the middle of class.

The school’s surveillance cameras, showed the student rushing toward the teacher and knocking her to the ground living her unconscious. He then continues to kick and punch the unconscious woman on her back and head while other employees tried to pull the student away from the teacher.

The affidavit states that the Student beat the teacher fifteen times. The 17-year-old student lives in a group home in Palm Coast called East Coast Habilitation Options (ECHO). This group home accommodates teens, young adults, and adults who are behavioral Challenged.

Following the attack, he was taken away in handcuffs and as he passed where the victim was being treated he allegedly attempted to spit on the victim and threatened to kill her.
