The former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has presented himself at the Mazingira House offices following a summon by the DCI.
In videos seen by the Media outlet, Matiang’i arrived at the headquarters in the company of his lawyer Danstan Omari, Rarieda MP Otiende Omolo alongside other advocates.
According to sources, the lawyers had been temporarily blocked from accompanying their clients until officers establish their identities.
Lawyer Omari is said to have clarified the names of each member and the team has now been allowed inside the DCI headquarters.
The former CS had been ordered to present himself at the DCI no later than 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7.

Fred Matiangi returned to the country on Saturday, March 4 after a two-week private vacation to the United Kingdom in order to attend to his private family matters.
In a statement, senior superintendent of Police Michael Sang issued a strong directive captivating Matiang’i to appear at DCI headquarters on the grounds that he could have published false information regarding the alleged police raid a fortnight ago but failed to honour the summon.
