Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has been crowned with other tasks including management in all ministries, in charge of state departments.
In a consign sent by the Executive Office of the President on Tuesday, February 28, the idea came as a result of the review of the Financial Year 2021/2022 performance contracting cycle of all Ministries and departments in the government.
The Cabinet pointed out the worrying occasions in the country involving the need for a performance management function to ensure responsibility.
“To realize this objective, the Administration’s first contracting cycle will crystalize the ministerial priorities approved during the Cabinet retreat held at the beginning of the year,” reads the statement.
During a meeting at the State House in Nairobi, the Cabinet also approved Ksh 4 billion to mitigate the drought situation which has hit hard the country. This is after they received a standing report on the ongoing drought as well as the support being rendered to school-going children through the school feeding program.
The task of eliminating cattle rustling and banditry attacks in the north rift region was placed as a first priority of the administration.
The office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary is mandated to assist the President and Deputy President in the coordination and supervision of all government ministries and state departments respectively.

Mudavadi also chairs and coordinates the National Government Legislative Agenda (NGLA) across all state departments and ministries in consultation with the party leaders in Parliament.

Further, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, Mudavadi is expected to supervise the implementation of National Government Policies as well.
Other outlined roles include chairing the Principal Secretaries’ committees, evaluating projects, and performing other tasks performed any tasks assigned by the office of the President.
