A fire outbreak at Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi county on early Friday, February 3 destroyed unknown valuable property.
A statement from the Nairobi county government indicated that the fire started at around 3:30 am at the commodity and pharmacy store.
The fire was immediately put off by the Nairobi city county fire and rescue services team which arrived shortly at the scene during the incident.
The County Executive Anastacia Nyalita in charge of Health confirmed that no casualties were reported.
“The Nairobi city county fire and the rescue team acknowledged within a period of 10 minutes and managed to overcome the fire. There were no casualties reported during the fire outbreak,” said Anastacia Nyalita.

Nyalita further said that a team from Nairobi county in collaboration with the police is currently assessing the damaged property as investigations continue to establish the cause of the fire at the hospital premises.
