While most people are looking to live long and die gracefully, the catch is, you may want to live but some of the things you do are reducing your lifespan.
If people had the power to increase their lifespan tenfold, trust that they will do it diligently. They understand the assignment. What is ironic though is that while we are so fixated on the ultimate healthy lifestyle; working out, and a good diet- some of the stuff we do take us one step closer to an early grave.
Here are things we do that reduce our lifespan:

- Sitting for too long
After a long day at work, all you want to do is put your behind on the fluffy sofa and your feet on the table. While this is good, you should know that too much sitting is likely to reduce your life expectancy, especially if your job is office-related. Honestly, you’ve been sitting all day.
- Pessimism
Spread the word to all those pessimists out there. Studies show that people who look at the bright side of things tend to live longer than those who frown all the time. So, why don’t you smile more often, maybe that will get you that age bonus you’ve been longing for.

- Oversleeping
We all love a good night’s sleep. It is refreshing and helps with recharge. However, take caution not to sleep for excessive periods since it reduces your lifespan. 7-8 hours of bed rest should be enough, no? or do you care for your beauty sleep that much James?
- Little sleep
While you try so hard to not oversleep, be sure that you do not end up distorting your entire sleep schedule. Too little sleep deteriorates your health since your body is not getting enough rest. This could potentially reduce your lifespan as well.
- Stress and depression
Thankfully, in today’s society, we have embraced speaking about mental health and prioritizing a healthy mental state. Avoid things or situations that could lead you to be stressed, anxious, or depressed. Too much thinking will send you packing for a long trip into the afterlife.
