Like in all other countries, Kenya is set for its 59th Jamhuri celebrations to be held at the Nyayo national stadium on Dec 12, 2022. Ambassadors and dignitaries are among expected guests.
According to the principal secretary for interior, Raymond Omollo, the function is set to start at 6 am when the stadium gates are to be opened and is expected to end at 1 pm.
The guests being hosted in this year’s Jamhuri celebrations are including ambassadors, dignitaries, leaders from Facebook and Google, and at least 20,000 members of the public.
“As it is we are 100% satisfied, we are ready and we are looking forward to having Kenyans from all walks of life attend the celebrations,” principal secretary for interior, Raymond Omollo.

This year’s theme is; connect, involve, and inspire. The event is set to achieve the government’s agenda to focus on innovation and ICT while offering free technology scholarships for students.

The government expects to digitize at least 5,000 government offices with government records expected to be digitized in the next 5 years.
The PS asked Kenyans unable to attend the celebration to participate in the county celebrations as per county commissioners’ directives.
“The celebrations will also be carried out in different parts of the country at different county headquarters.”Omollo noted.

Omollo assured Kenyans that all security precautions have been taken and that the government is working closely with security personnel to maintain order throughout the event.
This Jamhuri celebration will be the first one President William Ruto will officiate, since his election into office during the August 9th, 2022 general elections.
