She said that the delays had negatively made a standstill service provision by Kenya Medical Supplies Authority which affected the operational circle.

The selected task force members who visited KEMSA offices led by Dr. Anastasia Nyalita were smoothly updated that ring-fencing revenues generated by health facilities will minimize the use of funds rather than focusing to bring developmental outputs.

In addition, Ramadhani clarified that KEMSA is owed an average of Kshs2.1 billion overdue accounts by several Kenyan counties. However, some counties have started to put their accounts into use including Nairobi County as well.

“At Kenya Medical Supplies Authority, we have significantly adopted a collaborative method to open a room for outstanding debts. We believe that Counties will collaborate for better management of their financial obligations,” Ramadhani made an indication.

She also added in a statement that the County governments can on the other hand be described as KEMSA’s key priority for its clients.

‘’The Authority has magnificently continued to enhance the automation of its systems through modern technology upgrades to ease the process of order placement, confirmation, and distribution of medical supplies which is in high demand’’, she stated.

“On a high note, the given systems include the Logistics Management Information System (LMIS), the Ministry of Health Kenya Health Information System (KHIS), and the KEMSA Electronic Proof of Deliveries (e-POD App). These modern technology systems will significantly facilitate better information across the supply chain process,” Ramadhani said.

The Authority is gearing up to work smoothly with the County Governments for a better and advanced medical supplies in all Kenyan counties.
