Sakaja puts down Ksh500 million budget for the Governor’s Residence

Governor’s Residence; The Nairobi Governor-Johnson Sakaja has side-lined Ksh500 million on his budget for the construction of a modern Nairobi Governor and Deputy Residence.

Speaking on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, during the official launching of the proposed Kibera-Soweto East Zone B Social Housing Project in Lang’ata.

In a statement, Governor-Sakaja said that his ruling regime’s option is to advance people’s lives living in Nairobi.

The governor also said that he already has a residential house and was directed that the money could be allocated to the identified project.

“I have simply seen a budget of Ksh.500 million for the modern construction of the Governor and Deputy houses”, he said.

I have directed the concerned department to reallocate the money to other key and productive projects such as the construction markets and creating jobs for our youths,” Sakaja clarified.

Significantly, I myself am happy to stay where I am, the most important issue is to come up with solid developmental plans for the people in Nairobi, Sakaja added.

Noting, the Governor also clarified that the Ksh500 million plan was obtained from the Nairobi County Annual Development Plan for the financial year ending on June 30, 2023.

Sakaja who was elected under the Kenya Kwanza umberella, he is smartly showing green light momentum as far as developments is concerned.

Being a Kenyan capital city, Nairobi simply needs a new image in terms of modern projects such as housing,healthcare among other projects.
