Akothee’s Wedding Invitation to Family sparks Fiery Feud

Akothee with new mzungu bae

Kenyan musician and businesswoman, Akothee, decided to invite her family to her wedding shortly after she announced that she will be tying the knot with her newest bae. However, the way her family received the message was quite unexpected.

Instead of her family celebrating and congratulating her on the news, name-calling ensued and what was meant to be good news turned sour and quickly evolved into a full-scale phone war. Akothee says that she only wanted her family to support her decision and congratulate her and said such incidents were why she kept off family.

“Yesterday and today have been the worst day of my life. And these are the reasons I keep off family gatherings, and family WhatsApp groups. I do my things on my own, and just invite them as guests. Allow me to collect myself. I am shocked beyond words, I cannot even function,” wrote Akothee.

“A simple date has turned into a family war, name droppings, and phone calls all over, I only meant well. I was super excited about this news and wanted to share it with you. All I expected from you was simply(Congratulations, date saved),” she added.

On September 19, the mother of five took to Instagram to reveal her newfound lover and latest romance in her life Mr Schweizer.

“Sawa basi, it’s yeeeeeeeeees Someone tell my mum atoke tu church aende home I went for a lunch date in Mombasa shortly,”

Akothee also posted a TikTok video of her playing with her bae on the beach under the caption “he said if he puts me down it’s a yes”, spelling wedding bells.

So far Akothee‘s wedding preparations have not been a smooth ride. One of the dilemmas she is facing is that her man wants the wedding to be overseas but if that happens her father would not be able to officially hand her over for he cannot do flights.

Things got even dicier while Akohtee was looking for a master of ceremony for her wedding. She initially thought comedian Dr Ofweneke was a good fit for the job until she heard his price and claimed it was because she was marrying a caucasian, with the assumption that white people or foreigners have a lot of money.

“Wee I thought we were friends Dr Ofweneke is charging me Ksh1.4 m to be the official MC on my wedding day both white and traditional,”

The comedian responded by saying that she should pay the money or employ a white person for the job

“Kwani Kenya Hakuna wanaume? Ni madharau Gani hii unatuonyesha, wewe lipa 1.4 ksh ama ulete MC Mzungu basis,”

Akothee then revealed that she has never gotten a Kenyan man that suited her

“Someone tell Dr Oweneke haki sio kwa ubaya ,sikuona yeyote abayenifaa poleni basi” Akothee wrote.
