The former Citizen TV Anchor Jacque Maribe, on Monday, September 26 confided to the earlier denied allegations about her landing a government job in the Deputy President’s office as a Director of Communication.

Jacque went ahead to explain that she had received congratulatory messages from her fans, colleagues, and, friends whom she thanked for believing in her.

“I am not the Director of Communications at the Deputy President’s Office. Thank you all for the good wishes, calls, and text messages. Mambo ya God,” Maribe wrote.

Maribe otherwise had to confide to the earlier denied allegations, and clear the air after trending on Twitter over what could arguably be her biggest comeback in the media industry.

According to the reports, Maribe’s new post puts her in a place where she can plan press conferences for the DP and manage information flow from the office of the Deputy President.

Kenyans did not hide their mixed reactions to her new job, as the majority turned to be envious of her newly found success.

“Stop it with the envy, I miss Jacque Maribe on the job,” Nyuroro Osmo said.
“The appointment of Jacque Maribe as Director of Communication at the office of the Deputy President is a good sign that companies will always hire candidates with a ‘name’ and overlook fresh graduates,” A tweep named Frank stated.

The former prime-time TV journalist is not new in managing political communication as she had taken part in former Safina Party presidential candidate Jimi Wanjigi’s secretariat.

Maribe’s career quickly took a turn for the worst after she was involved in the murder case of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

However, Maribe got a reprieve after the evidence obtained from the crime scene showed no DNA match of her, this was confirmed in court by Investigating officer Inspector Maxwell Otieno who said Maribe’s genetic composition was not found in the evidence collected.

Reports on Maribe’s appointment come at a time when President William Ruto is yet to name his Cabinet and holders of other key government positions.

Jacque is likely to join Ruto and Gachagua’s press teams, she is likely to be joined by former Citizen TV Hussein Mohamed who served as Director of Communications, WSR Presidential Campaign, who is likely to be in the line.
