Azimio la Umoja Deputy Presidential Candidate, Martha Karua, addressed leaders-elect of the Azimio coalition and reminded them they are nothing less than heroes with almost 280 leaders in the leadership roles.
That is in reference to Azimio having garnered 23 leaders in the Senate, up to 24 or more governors with 130 Members of Parliament.
Karua lauded the leaders for their resilience all through the difficult moments they endured to achieve success.
“Out of the tallied votes, we know where we are and please be upbeat knowing that Kenyans are watching their votes. Let’s reach out and guard our votes as the counting is on but let’s know all is well,” said Martha.
Martha then urged on the building of a foundation and that the philosophy of ‘one nation one spirit’ needed to be realised within everyone.
She assured the supporters of Azimio of backing the right side and thanked them for the overwhelming support.
The leaders were attending the inaugural conference’ at Azimio Election celebrations in KICC where they are required to dress in the Azimio colours which are blue.
“We were asked to come in the attire for Azimio. We haven’t been told any message just that we should report here at KICC,” Sirisia MP-Elect John Waluke stated.
According to the Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who is in Azimio Coalition, one of the key points on the agenda was for the top brass to meet the elected leaders and get to know each other.
The re-elected Suna East member of parliament Junet Mohammed referred to the event as a celebration of the leaders elected to various roles as they await the presidential announcement by IEBC after completion of the tallying.
