Uhuru: Martha Won’t be Lenient on Land & Graft Suspects

President Uhuru Kenyatta admitted to having been lax with criminal suspects and warned that it would be different with Azimio la Umoja’s presidential running mate, Martha Karua.

Earlier this month the incumbent President joined the Azimio Deputy presidential candidate, Martha Karua, together with the religious leaders from Central Kenya in a non-denominational prayer and worship.

The president claimed that Karua will take legal actions against land grabbers and crime suspects when the Azimio government takes to State House, after the August polls.

The president admits he was not strict enough with criminal suspects in his tenure, but that won’t be the case with Martha. He praised the hopeful incoming first female Deputy President in Kenya.

“Land grabbers will be jailed. Karua will not hesitate to go after them. They will be in cells. She won’t forgive them as I did,” Uhuru said.

While campaigning for the Azimio coalition, the outgoing president showed affirmation for the duo’s leadership and assured that he believes Raila’s government will continue with what he had started.

“They are the ones who will be able to continue with this job for us to ensure we have a country that is being led in a just manner, the right way, and in a way that solves citizens’ problems,” said the President.

While in Nairobi commissioning government projects, president Muigai endorsed Raila as the perfect successor and also urged citizens to support the Azimio coalition, for the very promising deal the country needed.

The president responded to his opponents that were asking him to get done with his term and leave office, saying that he is here to stay and not leaving for anywhere, not even Somalia.

The President was seemingly getting back at his deputy William Ruto over remarks that he should only focus on his retirement ahead of next month’s general election.

“Hawa wengine ni wa mdomo tu na matusi (This other team is full of insults and empty talk). If you see them in their meetings, they only talk about me,” said the President.
