Tujibebe Wakenya Party, Moses Kuria and Chama Cha Kazi leader, William Kabogo, have decided to withdraw from Kenya Kwanza coalition’s rallies, due to unfair treatment.

Their decision comes with 53 days left to the General Election, with both Kuria and Kabogo feeling unappreciated and mistreated in recent days.

The two claim to have been disrespected in Kenya Kwanza despite being at the forefront of their campaigns.

“We have dutifully found time off our own campaigns for Kiambu Gubernatorial seat to attend rallies and Economic Forums in other counties. However, several events and incidents that have arisen in the past week have left us bewildered,” reads the statement.

However, the two parties narrowed down instances that purportedly prompted their aggressiveness and the urge to pull out from rallies.

On Monday June 13, Hon Moses Kuria the party leader of Chama Cha Kazi had a day-long activation in the Thika town constituency. Due to his spirit of the coalition, he invited the Kenya Kwanza MCAs including those from UDA. On the eve of activation, Hon Alice Nganga called all UDA aspirants not to participate in the activation and that there is no party called Kenya Kwanza,” reads the press release document.

On the same date, a meeting of all UDA aspirants from Kiambu county alluded to be held in Karen chaired by Deputy President William Ruto and his teammate Rigathi Gachagua.

According to the two parties, the meeting convened in Karen had a conspiracy plan of supporting UDA gubernatorial Candidate Kimani Wamatangi, locking out the other Kenya Kwanza candidates contesting in the Kiambu gubernatorial seat.

They further accused Kikuyu members of parliament Kimani Ichungwa stating that he was given handouts to bribe Kiambu County MCAs in backing Senator Wamatangi to win the governorship position.

“On the same date of June 13, a UDA meeting comprising all aspirants from Kiambu County was held in Karen, and the primary objective of the meeting was to come up with strategic campaign tactics for senator Wamatangi to win the Kiambu gubernatorial seat and we are aware that Kimani Ichungwa was given money to give all MCAs to vote for Wamatangi,” stated in the release.

The same scenario as that of Kuria and Kabogo was claimed to be subjected to the Service Party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri on June 11, during the Nyahururu/ Nanyuki Kenya Kwanza rally. Kiunjuri  was embarrassed before the Deputy President William Ruto, Moses Kuria and JB Muturi.

The Chama Cha Kazi and Tujibebe party leaders however said there is a need to convene meetings as Kenya Kwanza, looking for ways to deliberate on unacceptable bullying caused by the UDA party and clear attempts to disenfranchise marginalized regions in the country.
