The personal care and beauty market in Africa is a
multi-billion-dollar industry, with annual increases of close to 10%. With
global growth languishing at around 4%, the African market is expanding at more
than double the pace. By 2022, the African beauty market is expected to be
worth more than $14 billion.

The majority of the market and growth is located in
sub-Saharan Africa, with Nigeria leading the way. Nigeria replaced South Africa
as the largest economy in Africa in 2014, and is in the top 25 economies in the
world. With a population of more than 206 million, it’s forecast to become the
third most populous country in the world by 2030.

She is the owner of Mila Organics, her main focus is on
hair and skin products for all but women are the centre of it.

“Mila organics is a cultured brand which uses pure
organic products (plants) for the good benefit of the skin and hair of a woman
which are purely natural ingredients,” she said.

According to Adhiambo, it is the driven passion for
studying and researching beauty that made her start the Mila organics brand.

“Initially, I was an interior designer but I didn’t find
my strength in it, my career goal was on beauty products. So after working and
saving for a while in interior design, I aimed to start the beauty products and
shower gel was my starter,” she commented.

“Since the beginning of COVID-19, the economics of
Kenya was greatly affected. At that time, I could only think of making money to
start up a business, luckily enough I saved as much,” she said.

Beauty products are essential for making the skin glow
and have a radiance.

Mila Organics made from pure natural ingredients have all
the benefits. Mila organics products improve and manage skin infections such as
eczema, psoriasis, dark spots, and acne.

The products include; Vitamin C, Rosehip oil, Hyaluronic
serum and Shower gel and Shampoo.

The organic benefits of the Shampoo are;

• Reduces scalp irritation

• Reduces frizz

• Reduces irritation of the skin around the hair (neck,
back, hairline acne)

• Leaves hair softer and more conditioned

• Leaves curly hair more intact

The organic benefits of the shower gel are;

• Healing properties

• Rich in antioxidants

• Natural antibacterial properties

• Cruelly free and animal friendly

Mila organic products are pocket friendly compared to the
chemical produced products. She makes the products in the comfort of her home
using everyday kitchen equipment and ingredients.

“I have really tried to work on the prices of the
products, we deliver any place where the customer is,” Adhiambo said.

It is important to note that before applying the products
to the skin one should know the type of skin and how to apply the products. So
much information on skincare is available everywhere.

Experts say regular check-ups to the dermatologist for
skin cancer can save your life, also eating healthy and having plenty of water
will have a youthful impact on your skin.
