President William Ruto has arrived in Kazakhstan for a two-day State Visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two nations.
Announcing his arrival, President Ruto underscored the growing partnership between Kenya and Kazakhstan, saying the relationship has steadily developed over the last decade through deliberate engagements.
“Arrived in Kazakhstan for a two-day State Visit,” President Ruto stated.
The Kenyan Head of State added that both countries are now seeking to elevate their bilateral relations to a new level of cooperation and strategic partnership.
“Kenya and Kazakhstan have been planting seeds of friendship for over a decade through series of deliberate engagements. It is time to take these cordial relations to the next level.”
President Ruto highlighted the progress already made in trade between the two countries, particularly in tea, flowers, fertilizer, and logistics.
He also pointed to improving connectivity between Nairobi and Astana as a catalyst for expanding commerce and regional partnerships across Central Asia.
The President said Kenya is keen on broadening cooperation into key sectors including finance, ICT, tourism, energy, and educational exchange programmes.
According to President Ruto, the expanded partnership is expected to create jobs, promote skills transfer, and open up new international markets for Kenyan goods and services.
“We are committed to building on this foundation by exploring new opportunities in finance, ICT, tourism, energy, and exchange programmes, with the overriding goal of fostering job creation, skills transfer, as well as expanding and opening new markets for our goods.”
